Low Cost High quality chucks like the Nova & SuperNova are generally priced well out of the reach of small or budget lathe owners. After all, why pay a couple of hundred for a chuck if your lathe was bought for under $400? The Compac breaks through these constraints with a high quality, but low cost, chucking option. |

| Perfect Size Chucks like the Nova & SuperNova don't sit so well on mini/midi lathes - their size & bulk just gets in the way. Also, ideally, you want the lightest weight as possible to keep the stress of small spindles. Power
The Compac is a small chuck, but it delivers comparable closing power to the Nova chuck. Most chucking projects appropriate to a 12" diameter capacity lathe can be carried out with ease. With the addition of the Adaptor Jaw accessory plates, the smaller range of the Nova and SuperNova accessory jaws can be used - Pin, 25mm, 50mm, Step, 35&45mm Spigot jaws. |

| Ease of Use Like the Nova and SuperNova, the Compac is very user friendly - an ideal chuck for beginners. No complicated adjustments are necessary with an open/close twin lever action. Very quick to set up and use - there is an instant change between the spigot (contracting) and expansion (dovetail) actions. The Compac is faster and easier to set up and use than traditional faceplate, screw chucking or jam chucking alternatives. |
