"This submission is a tip for using the Cole Jaws.  When chucking a bowl with a thin edge you cannot tighten the jaws much without damaging the bowl.  In order to hold the bowl securely I have found that the saran wrap type of "tape" which is about 2" wide works well.   Wrap it around back and forth through the gaps between the jaws and going across the side of the bowl.  Since this type of tape only sticks to itself there is no residue to affect the finish.  Since it stretches, the more your wrap the stronger the hold.  I no longer have bowls popping of the jaws anymore!"
