Mr. Clayton won a runner-up prize of a Chuck Spur
"I have been turning for a little over one year now. I am often found spending much of my weekends in the garage with my many woodturning projects. The first class I took on the lathe was showing us the least expensive way to turn bowls, with glue blocks. Several came off.
After I purchase my Delta Lathe and turned pens for a while, I had a chance to watch a production turner for half a day. I had been reading everything I could and felt that I wanted the SuperNova Chuck and it was great to see that he was using a Nova Chuck and he was considering the purchase of a SuperNova Chuck. I went to Woodcraft that night and purchased one. I now own two SuperNova Chucks, one set up with standard jaws and the other with Cole Jaws and I have an addition 35mm Spigot Jaw Set.
I have turned many bowls with the SuperNova Chucks. Many of my friends and family have received bowls for Christmas or a birthday gift. I am a hobbyist with no interest in selling my work but I get offers all the time. This Winter I spent some time turning smaller items, whistles, scoops and tops so I purchased the 35mm Spigot Jaws to work with smaller stock.
Having the chance to watch the production turner gave me some great insight. He suggested to have the 2 separate chucks so you do not have to spend the time changing them back and fourth. I would rather be turning than adjusting equipment so that is why I own both set-ups.
I am now looking to upgrade my lathe to a larger model. The lathe I have selected is the Nova 3000 Woodlathe. This lathe looks to have the size I could use for larger pieces of wood and more potential."

"I am glad that you have found so much enjoyment out of the Jaw Sets - Keep it up!"
